Hello November

Here at Bourne Again Gardens HQ we can hardly believe that November is here again. We are lucky in the North East, and in fact England, to experience all of the types of weather that we do; even though a lot of people like to complain about it! From watching the sprouting of the first bulbs in springtime to the falling leaves then the snow clearance and gritting on the kind of mornings when your gloved hands hurt and tingle whilst they acclimatise to the minus temperatures; landscape gardeners have the best job in the world! This November we will be building a hay shed from wood in Darlington after demolishing the old rotten one. Contract work will involve leaf clearing and pruning now the last grass cut has been done. There will not be many more days providing the 7 degrees c that is needed for the grass to grow. Meanwhile at home most of our vegetable garden has now been harvested. It’s been a great year for growing and we have been lucky enough to eat what we grew all summer and well into the Autumn. We still have broccoli, sprouting broccoli, parsnips, carrots, potatoes and onions so we should survive the winter!
